This stanza is what being a dub is all about. The WTS doesn't give a flying leap if your life is circling down the drain because of their outrageous (but Christian!) demands on your life.

Why do you consider atheism as something one "gives in to"? Do you think that all atheists become atheists because they're discontent with religion? Can you think of any other reasons one might become an atheist?

Nearly every exdub on this site has told a horror story of their experience with the WTS and JWs. They have been, and some are still being, brutalized by its heartless doctrines, unloving fellow dubs, needless guilt, and shunning by their own families. Recommending that someone stay a dub just so they can be "religious" is like telling a battered woman to stay with her husband because marriage is great institution.

On what do you base your opinion that believers are happier than atheists? What makes you think atheists have no "cause to champion"?

Don't know what that is, but it doesn't sound like anything I'd put any stock in.

At its most basic, cancer is a disease of the genes. Researchers don't know yet all the influences that can result in a gene going haywire and causing uncontrolled cell reproduction, which is the hallmark of cancer.
And NO ONE knows a way that will get those genes to behave themselves. Chemo, surgery, radiation, bone marrow transplant, and some retrovirus therapies are the only tools that work to get a cancer to go into remission. These therapies are dangerous and may cause more trouble down the road. But when the alternative is death, they are still the best choice for a cancer patient.
Very occasionally, a cancer will go into remission with minimal treatment. This is rare.
Promoting vegan diets and other like-minded actions as a "cure" for cancer is irresponsible. Read "The Emporer of All Maladies" to inform youself about what cancer is and what cancer research has accomplished in the last sixty years.

I agreed in an earlier post that common courtesy should be practised more on this site.
You are talking about right wing Christians, but aren't some of the Athiests a bit heavy handed as well?
Yes, some atheists are heavy-handed too. I have myself posted some less-than-polite opinions. I agree with Seraphim's suggestion that the person at the computer at the other end deserves at least as much courtesy as we would give strangers meeting face-to-face.

"Ripping a person's faith away" -- is that even possible? A die-hard believer will shrug off even the most compelling proof, and those who aren't sure about it don't have their faith wrapped too tightly to begin with -- no ripping needed, not even nudging.
This kind of believer comes looking for answers. When they show up on this site, they're already on a quest to find out the truth about their own religion (note I do not say "faith"). Their "faith" is already on the downslide, and this site tries to help them find another way.
Those who do bear a heavy responsibility are those who try to impose their heavy-handed beliefs on others -- prayer in public schools, narrow definitions of "family," insistence that their way is the only way, disturbing people in their own homes with harsh doctrines and divine retribution. Those who are at this moment trying to influence legislation to force people of other faiths or of no faith to bend to their fundamentalist beliefs.
These are people who have much to answer for.

religion is a preoccupation with man's views on god.. the gospel is a preoccupation with god's views on man.. "man's search for god" versus "god's search for man" if you will.. it seems to us that there is no intention or prospect of ever reconciling the two.
therefore it seems we have to choose one or the other, no matter how hard.. what are your observations?.
Gospel is good news.
Religion is bad news.
